Sasso Stones is a small mineral hoard in Metro Detroit. We take pride in sourcing our stones as close to where they come out of the ground as possible. We love to look at the work of gemologists and lapidary artists, and all the careers and hobbies in between that make rockhounding what it is. We take great interest in doing the research behind the stones, learning about the mines, the functions in the earth that make the stones, and the cultural significance they hold.
We do this research the hard way- by deep-diving into YouTube essays, late night reading sessions on Wikipedia, and, old faithful, asking librarians. We are very proudly anti-AI in our research, writing, photos, promotional tools, and all available facets of our little shop.
Not one drop of water on earth is worth that level of lazy.
